MEET Amanda

Professional Experience. Personal Understanding. Christ-Centered Care.

I’m Amanda Polk, a Licensed Independent Social Worker–Clinical Practice, retired Army veteran, and transformational coach. I help people understand the patterns that developed through trauma and difficult life experiences so they can move forward with greater peace, confidence, purpose, and freedom in Christ.

My work is grounded in the belief that lasting transformation involves the whole person—mind, body, relationships, identity, and spirit. I combine professional knowledge, practical strategies, and biblical truth to help people understand what is happening beneath the surface and build healthier patterns rooted in peace, purpose, and freedom in Christ.

MY STORY

I Know What It Means to Rebuild

My path to this work has been shaped by more than professional training. I am a retired Army veteran, wife, mother, ministry leader, clinician, and someone who understands that difficult experiences can change the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to the world around us.

For years, survival can feel like strength because it helps us keep moving. But eventually, the patterns that once protected us may begin limiting our peace, relationships, confidence, and ability to fully live. My own journey has deepened my compassion for people who are ready to stop hiding, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and build a life no longer controlled by fear, shame, or the past.

I believe healing and transformation are possible when we are willing to understand our experiences honestly, develop new ways of responding, and allow Christ to restore the places that have been shaped by pain. That belief is at the heart of the work I do today.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Clinical Training. Military Experience. Practical Support.

My professional background brings together clinical social work, military service, trauma-focused care, and years of helping people navigate difficult life experiences. I understand the importance of evidence-based treatment, practical skills, direct communication, and support that respects the whole person.

Experienced Guidance

Licensed Independent Social Worker–Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) with years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate:

• Trauma
• Anxiety
• Relationship challenges
• Emotional distress
• Difficult life transitions

Evidence-Based Care

My work is informed by proven clinical approaches including:

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Mindfulness
• Trauma-Informed Care

Each approach is used with the goal of helping people understand patterns, develop practical skills, and create lasting change.

Military Perspective

As a retired Army veteran, I bring personal understanding of military culture, service, transition, and the unique experiences that can shape veterans, service members, first responders, and their families.

WHAT MAKES MY APPROACH DIFFERENT

Understanding Before Solutions

Many people spend years trying to change behaviors without first understanding the patterns driving them.

My approach begins by helping you understand what is happening beneath the surface.

How past experiences, beliefs, nervous system responses, relationships, and spiritual life influence the way you think, feel, and respond today.

Lasting change becomes possible when we address the root, not just the symptom.

Curiosity Before Judgment

Instead of asking, "What's wrong with you?" I believe the better question is, "What happened, and what has your mind and body learned in response?"

Faith and Clinical Excellence

II believe biblical truth and sound clinical practice work together—not in competition. My goal is to care for the whole person: mind, body, relationships, and spirit.

Practical, Not Just Insightful

Understanding is important, but lasting change requires action. Every session is designed to provide practical tools you can begin applying immediately.

Hope That Lasts

Healing is rarely about becoming who you used to be. It's about becoming who God is calling you to become.
